Enraptured — 31" height x 31" length x 23" width
14 gauge steel, pickle juice finish, guilders paste, digital prints on various metals, digital image transfers, assorted gauge and color crocheted and wrapped wire.
For the past five weeks I have been adding what I call my abstract masks near my studio. This project started with me cutting and welding twelve masks to 1/4" rod to stand outside. The entire project will be finished and installed in the next seven weeks, but the results will be a year from now.
I have so many questions on what various coating, patinas, colors, digital transfers, wire and overcoating will do to steel in the long run. Will these rust? Will some products rust more than others? Will patina's keep their color outside. I have had several sculptures in my studio for over a year and there is no change in the surface, but what will happen in the outdoors.
I will finish posting one a week for the next seven weeks and then watch what mother nature will do to the various elements. This weeks piece will be colored with patinas that you spray on to create colors in the steel. This project is also documented on my behance portfolio from the beginning - choose this link to visit my Bechance portfolio.
