Sculptural Elements 1- began with forms and images that I see as I walk in spaces of forests that have been altered by their environment. Trees have been struck by lightening or damaged by fire—prodded and coerced by the the natural change in their environment. I refer to these as my stumps. Pieces of x-living things—left in the forest. The stumps and pieces left everywhere and new life starts to cling. These new textures are a strong part of what I create.
I work intuitively as I cut form, shape and weld the steel shape.
